HITCO’S Mica Band Heater can perform at higher operating temperature [in application up to 350°C] essential to process high temperature resins in plastic processing machines.
Mica Band is proven heater design for good life efficiency and dependability. It assure maintaining the lowest winding temperature possible, keeping low-mass heating element assembly for fast heat-up and quick thermal response to controls. It corporate the low thermal expansion built – in strap, a unique feature developed by HITCO’S.
HITCO’S BAND HEATERS are designed with brass and stainless steel sheaths in mica band to accommodate high wattage requirements.
The exigencies of the plastic field of working with advance high productivity technical system, with newly composed raw material, required plant to work under higher working temperature and bigger heating quantity.

  • Resistive winding: big section wide band nickel chrome 80/20 with consequent low specific load obtained by N.C winding machine assuring constant repeatability and uniformity.
  • Insulation: by continuous pure mica with very low inorganic alloy content.
  • Internal casing: of stainless steel with high thermal conductivity for guaranteed maximum heat transmission to the plasticization cylinders.
  • External screw strap casing: of stainless steel suitable for high temperature for guaranteed maximum thermal efficiency making a pressure action on the heating band.
  • Special terminal box: designed in ceramics, incorporates the junction between power cables and resistive plate. A metallic protection shields, the ceramic from knock and wire ripping.
  • Power cable: for high temperature with leads in pure nickel or nickel copper. External fiberglass insulated. External protection in metallic braiding with various options.

Clamping & Termination

Clamping Variations:
Standard Allen bolt clamping type (AB):

Allen bolt with standard clamping system generally used on all heaters.
Spring loaded clamping type (ABS):
Allen bolt with spring loaded clamping systems provides excellent grip of the heater mounted vertically.
Termination Variations:
Ceramic terminal cover on post terminals type (CI):
Post terminals provide optimum connection. Ceramic covers with opening for leads are screwed onto post terminal providing a convenient, economical insulator can be provided on heater length of 40 mm or more.
High temperature “Quick disconnect” plug type (PL):
This provides the simplest and fastest way to apply power to band heaters. This assembly eliminates all life exposed terminals and electrical winding that can be potential hazard to employees or machine. Can be provided heater length 40 mm or more.
(Recommended for heaters capacity up to 2.5 kW)
High temperature ceramic connector (Type CC):
A ceramic connector ranging up to 15 Amps. With brass pins directly mounted on the edge of heater connected with stainless steel lead insulated with F/G sleeves generally used where long leads wire is required.
Metallic terminal box connection type (STC):
A customized metallic terminal box attach directly to the heater & act as a safety feature by covering the M5 SS Bolts acting as a terminal for heavy connection loads this can be provided on the length 40 mm or more with standard 1 Mt. fiber glass insulated lead wires.

Direct fiber glass insulated lead connection type (DL):
A standard connection pure nickel wire directly fixed with heating wire coming out crimped with copper conductor lead wire insulated with 1 Mt. fiber glass having shock absorbing T-CLAMP. Generally used where long lead wire is required.
